c

Or Woodcote Cottages, to give the correct name at the time we first started renovation work, as the building had been split into two, some time at the turn of the last century.
The accommodation was cramped, dilapidated and damp and at some point someone had covered the exterior in unappealing, grey render.
The timbers were rotten, the roof tiles were falling off and all in all, the building looked unloved and disregarded.
But despite the prevailing gloom, we saw the building's potential and set to work to strip away the layers and uncover its former seventeenth century glory and return it to one single dwelling.
As elements of the building were protected by a grade two listing, we carefully sourced materials such as tiles, timbers and bricks which would be sympathetic to its period.
And gradually the timbers were restored, the brickwork re-built and the house transformed into the perfect country cottage with all the stunning features of 17th century architecture.
